Dear Craigslea Community,

Another fortnight has flown by, and we’re quickly approaching the end of our 2024 school year. Our students are hard at work completing assessments, while our teachers are preparing Semester 2 report cards. Amid all this, many of our Year 5 students have been focused on preparing for 2025 leadership positions, and we look forward to hearing their speeches next week. Meanwhile, our Year 6 students are busy creating their legacy mural, and it’s exciting to see it taking shape.

House Shield Competition
Last week, nearly 2,000 gotchas were handed out to recognise positive student behaviour, reflecting our students' commitment to meeting our LIFE expectations and earning points for their house teams. It’s wonderful to see such enthusiasm and friendly rivalry amongst our house teams. 

A big thank you to our Hamilton, Maundrell and Webster House Captains who have been rallying the troops each day through the morning expectations reminders and their counting of Gotchas each week.  They are displaying great team work and modelling the way for our students.

Looking Ahead to 2025
We’re excited to share our plans for 2025 with families in the coming week. Our priorities remain focused on:

• Student wellbeing and engagement
• Embracing diversity and inclusion

2024 Celebration Assembly
On Tuesday, 3 December, at 1:45 pm, we’ll gather to celebrate our 2024 school year, farewell our Year 6 students, say goodbye to Mr. Heidrich, and announce our 2025 Student Leaders. We invite all members of our community to join us for this very special event assembly.

Show & Shine Afternoon
Our students and teachers will host Show and Shine afternoon again this term.  This has been one of our most favourite events this year.  Students have really enjoyed sharing their learning with their families. We look forward to seeing you there!

2025 Class Placements, Step-Up Day, and Semester 2 Report Cards
As the year winds down, we know families are eagerly awaiting information about next year’s class placements and teachers. On Monday, 2 December, students will “step up” and meet their 2025 teacher and classmates. They will bring home an introductory letter that day to let you know their teacher and classroom for 2025. Step-Up Day is an important part of helping students transition to their new class.

Class placement is a carefully considered process involving teachers, specialist staff, and input from Term 3’s parent placement forms. We kindly ask that you respect this process and the decisions made by our teachers, who know your children well as learners. Adjustments to these finalized lists cannot be accommodated.

Our teachers are working on Semester 2 report cards, which will be emailed to families on Wednesday, 11 December. To ensure you receive your child’s report, please confirm your email address with our office if there have been any recent updates.
