Many parents have concerns regarding their children’s appropriate use of social media and messaging platforms. Many social media platforms that your children may currently be accessing are NOT recommended for primary age children.  Please access the eSafety Commissioner's website (https://www.esafety.gov.au) is a great resource with lots of helpful information about keeping safe online.

In some year levels, students have reported receiving abuse and threats from other students on social media platforms. As a way of protecting themselves, students are encouraged to take screenshots of any inappropriate communications and share this with their parents. This usually occurs outside of school hours, however if it impacts students at school, the school will manage the impact and inform parents. I would encourage all parents and caregivers to monitor their children’s messaging and internet usage with the intention of maintaining their safety.
