We had so much fun performing Taba Naba at the assembly last week! We worked hard to learn the song and dance to go with it. We have been reading Gorilla as a whole class and learning some exciting new vocabulary. We even had a go at writing about what happened in the story. We are really enjoying creating portraits for Visual Arts, come and check them out at parent-teacher interviews. |
Year 1 |
We have been so busy in year 1, wow! We have just finished writing our very own narratives with imaginative detail and ideas. In Science we are getting ready to build a bridge that is strong enough to hold the Billy Goats Gruff! Our Health lessons have been teaching us how we are smart in our own individual way, and how this contributes to our personal identities. We have been working super hard and are VERY much looking forward to school holidays! |
Year 2 |
WOW!!! Are Year 2 persuasive? They sure are! The teachers have been amazed at how successful the children have been with persuading Mrs Abdy to bring Roxy to school more often...or not. In Maths we’ve been working on becoming faster and more accurate with telling our number facts. Maybe you could put them to the test next time you’re driving in the car! |
Year 3 |
This week, Year 3 students are working diligently on finalising their information report on their chosen animal. They have been working hard on receiving feedback and bumping up their paragraphs to ensure that this week they are utilising their best ideas. For science, we are getting super excited about our pending incursion in week 10 – Street Science! |
Year 3/4 |
We are putting the finishing touches on our PowerPoint presentation about our endangered species. We have created 3D shaped nets and found a fantastic math website that allows us to use tangrams and shapes in a virtual space. (mathigon.org/tangram) The 4s will have a wildlife incursion this Friday and the 3s will have Street Science next Monday. The 4s need to think about a very simple convict costume for filming next week. We do have some pieces here, but it is their responsibility to organise this! They will film 3 x 30 second shots of their convict journey and use iMovie next term to put this together. |
Year 4 |
Year 4 students are all super busy finalising our assessment pieces for Term 3. Students will be filming their drama/speaking performance, which focuses on life in the past. For Science, we are looking at how to conserve the endangered animals we have studied this term. We are very excited for our wildlife incursion on Friday! |
Year 5 |
Year 5 are enjoying finishing off our final tasks. We have written some really engaging stories on ‘Mulga Bill’s Bicycle’ and are in the process of rehearsing for our performance of ‘Bush Ballads’. In Mathematics, we have been looking at fractions and engaging in some hands-on learning. In HASS, we are continuing our learning all about the Gold Rush and how important it was in shaping modern Australia. We also can’t wait to complete our final art collage on Ned Kelly! |
Year 5/6 |
Year 5/6 have been recording data from the experiments they have set up to test their planetary variable. Some of our tomato plants are not looking so great but that’s okay – it's all in the pursuit of learning. Our Year 6’s had a fabulous time at Camp Maranatha. They were able to push themselves to achieve new heights (literally) and learned a lot about themselves and each other. |
Year 6 |
Year 6 had a fantastic time at camp. They faced their fears on the flying fox, giant swing, hoop pine climb and leap of faith. They worked with others to build rafts and paddle canoes. Lots of great memories were made and they all became bigger, better, stronger and wiser. |
