Year 6 Camp to Tuchekoi
What a wonderful experience for our Year 6 pupils. Here are just a few recaps first hand from our students.

'Recently, the grade 6’s went to camp at Tuchekoi Maranartha Recreation Centre on Gubbi Gubbi land up north near Gympie.

The day activities included - a giant swing, canoeing, raft building, flying fox, leap of faith, challenge trail, archery and hoop pine climb. There were also night activities such as minutes to win it challenges and a movie night. Some of our most beloved memories were the boys and Mrs Wright sharing embarrassing stories, Miss Bauer and most of the kids going for a 6am walk to the top of the 100 acres of land. Some of the favourite activities were the flying fox, the big swing and canoeing.

It was amazing to experience that adventure, see the kids push themselves to the limit and them trusting the equipment, instructors, teachers and the people around them (not just their friends)'. – Harshi & Sybelle

'Camp was really great, the fresh outdoor air, the fears that I overcame, the food (I love food!) and last but not least, the instructors. All of these were the reasons I really enjoyed camp. Like one of the instructors said, “Leave camp as a bigger, better, stronger and wiser person”. Every time I did something that challenged me, I felt great after'. -Stella

'This year at Camp Tuchekoi was a great experience. During camp there were once in a lifetime opportunities that pushed us beyond our limits. These experiences help us get ready for high school. The instructors were amazing at teaching us to open up to try new activities and helped us communicate with people we would’ve thought never to work with. These activities included Archery, Flying Fox, Canoeing and many more. We would like to thank the people that made this camp happen. Not only were the adventures remarkable, so was the food thanks to our chef. Camp Tuchekoi made us bigger, better, stronger and wiser people'. - Sheba & Sera

'This year at Camp Maranatha we learned how to be a bigger, better, stronger, wiser person. We had many fun but challenging activities that pushed us beyond our limits. There were activities such as The Giant Swing, Flying Fox, Leap of faith, Archery and Hoop Pine Challenge. We also had water activities such as Raft Building and Canoeing. This experience helped us work with people we had never worked with and helped us communicate effectively with others. We would like to thank all the people who made this camp possible including the teachers, our parents and the Maranartha instructors that made a great effort to make this experience the best they could. Thank you also to our chefs for the amazing food. We will always remember this inspiring and challenging camp!' - Chloe
