P&C News
In this edition…
- Ballinger St Parking Changes to improve child safety
- Colour Fun Run (23/06/2023 at 2pm) and Pie Drive (collection 16/06/2023 before 3pm)
- Volunteers – we simply can’t do it without you!
Also….
- In Term 3, the Tuckshop will be getting a “Tune-Up”. Tuckshop experts will perform a thorough review to see where we can improve our menu, processes, and operations. The outcome will be an even better Tuckshop!
- The P&C have committed $500k to the upgrade of the Prep and Year 1 Playgrounds. The scope of works is close to being complete, and work will hopefully commence later this year. Additional funds were committed at the last P&C meeting to upgrade the softfall from bark to rubber (which is cleaner, more durable, longer lasting, more sustainable, and cheaper in the long-term).
- The P&C will purchase an automatic paediatric defibrillator for the school. Should the need arise, this device will potentially save a life. Hopefully, we never need it.

- Ballinger Street Parking Changes
- The P&C, school, and Brisbane City Council have all worked together on changes to Ballinger Street parking
- The changes are aimed at improving child safety in this area
- Brisbane City Council will enforce these changes – as well as parking in surrounding streets – through parking inspectors
- Please ensure you are driving and parking safely in and around the school
- Colour Fun Run and Pie Drive
- Our Colour Fun Run is next Friday afternoon. Please ensure your child has a white shirt on the day
- Please keep fundraising for the Colour Run! There are great prizes to be won. All funds raised will go towards Prep and Y1 playground upgrades later this year
- Pies will be available for pick-up this Friday afternoon. Please ensure all pies are collected by 3pm as we are unable to store them
- Volunteers – we simply can’t do it without you!
- P&C activities and events need volunteers to be successful
- Even a small amount of time (30mins) or effort can make a big difference
- Volunteering opportunities are posted in the newsletter each fortnight and on Facebook
- Thank you to all the volunteers who have helped in the tuckshop and at events so far this year (disco, working bee, pie drive, Mothers and Others Stall, and more!)
