Principal's Post

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Here is our last newsletter for the term. I had originally planned to be on long service leave for the last three weeks of term. However, due to the restrictions I have reduced my leave to just the last week of term and am now holidaying closer to home. During this period, Narelle Green will be Acting Principal and Sarah Abdy will be  Acting Deputy Principal. Alison Jones and Anthony Kleidon will be sharing the week as Heads of Inclusion.

I would like to thank staff, students and community for their positivity and resilience during this difficult time.  The leadership team have felt the warmth and support of everyone. Congratulations to our Head of Inclusion, Sarah Abdy who was selected as our school’s permanent Head of Curriculum from 26 applicants in a recent recruitment process.  Sarah will still play a significant role in the leadership of the inclusion program for the stability of staff, students and their families. We have advertised for an Acting Head of Inclusion with the successful candidate commencing early in Term 3.  After the holidays,  Shelly Ahuja will return as Targetted Learning Teacher for Year 4 and Stephanie McGovern will commence as Targetted Learning Teacher for Year 3 and Early Years Digital Technology Teacher.

As I write this newsletter, I am waiting to receive the Term 3 Operational Guidelines which hopefully will lift some of the restrictions such as adults on school-grounds et cetera and allow us to make some decisions around Year 5 Camp and some of our other Term 3 planned events.  We will be able to provide this advice about some activities,  before the school term ends.

SCHOOL OPINION SURVEY
Parents and Caregivers are invited to participate in this year’s School Opinion Survey and have a say about schooling during the COVID-19 lockdown.  You are also given the opportunity to provide feedback about our school more generally.

Participation in the survey is anonymous and you are encouraged to take this opportunity to have your say.  The survey form has been designed so that it can easily be completed on a computer or smartphone. The online survey will be available until Friday, 17 July 2020, and should take less than five minutes to complete.

To access the survey, please click on the link below or copy and paste it into your web browser:

Please contact the school if you have any questions about the survey.

I hope some of you get a chance to enjoy a less-restricted break.
