Active School Travel (AST)

May be an image of 5 people, people standing and text that says "School of the Year 2022 Award Winner Craigslea State School -0 Dedicatel better Brisbane SN 1" On Thursday night our Active School Travel Team attended the Brisbane City Council’s Lord Mayor’s Active School Travel Annual Awards at City Hall. The night recognises the fantastic outcomes and changes schools make through the program. The AST program is all about creating healthier, more active students and families, increasing road safety awareness, safer streets and continuing to tackle traffic congestion.
I would like to announce that Craigslea SS was recognised in our first year of the program for all our hard work as 2022’s Active School Travel, School of the Year!!!!

May be an image of ‎3 people, dog, outdoors and ‎text that says "‎Active School Travel #activeschooltravel ||ااساااا Dedicated o better Brisbane‎"‎‎ Well done to all the students, parents, teachers and staff who participate by getting active and importantly reducing congestion and increasing safety around our school.
Active School Travel is one of the easiest ways to incorporate physical activity into everyday life for all children. Remember every Wednesday at Craigslea is a Walking, Wheeling Wednesday - how will you actively travel with us next week?

AST Litter Walk
Thank you everyone for your support on our Litter Walk. It was great to see how looked after our community is, we had to search high and low to find some litter to pick up. We had lots of fun working together as a team! Thank you also to the Brisbane City Council Litter Prevention Team who helped us out with equipment and talked to us about their 104 or more litter initiative.

Remembrance Day

Mrs Le Roux coordinated the creation of our own field of poppies in the memorial garden out the front of the school as part of our recycled art and sustainability unit in Year 4 for Remembrance Day this Friday.

Well done to the ICT Explorers
These students have worked for months creating apps and digital games to help solve problems in their community. Today they presented their digital projects online to a panel of judges.
