Active Travel
As a part of our Active School Travel initiative – Walking, Wheeling Wednesdays – our Year 4-5 students had the opportunity to take part in a bike skills safety session. Bike skills training provides children with invaluable riding skills and lays the foundation for independent travel choices and fun family rides. Students covered the essentials including: Safety check, including helmet, tyres, bell and brakes Bike control, environment scanning, signalling and riding manoeuvres Safely crossing intersections and the road (footpath to footpath) Queensland road rules and footpath etiquette Thanks to #brisbanecitycouncil Active School Travel Program, who fully funded Bike Skills Training.
