Around The Grounds

Literacy Olympics at Wavell State High School

Last week 16 students from grades 5 & 6 participated in The Literacy Olympics at Wavell State High School. The day consisted of the students working in teams of four to complete literacy based challenges. Round one was focused on Grammar and round two was centred around Crazy Words.  All students had a great time with one of our year 6 teams, Kashvi, Ignatius, Olivia and Zoe coming runners up in the overall points for year 6. Congratulations to all students who participated. They demonstrated the skills of self-management and being curious thinkers. We are proud of the way they represented Craigslea SS.

Real-life life cycle studying in Year 4

It has been a cracking week!  Year 4 was eggcited to watch our new hatchlings come into the world. Without being too cocky, we think they are pretty cute chicks.  To view the YouTube videos of sped-up versions of the eggs hatching in the incubators please click the links below.  So much to shellebrate in Year 4!

Year 6 were visited by the Honorable Senator Anthony Chisholme. We asked some hard questions but he was very gracious and understanding in his answers.
