Prep

In Prep we have been learning about all sorts of materials in Science. We have been learning about fabric and this week we are exploring glass. Last week we enjoyed the activities for NAIDOC week including the games at playtime as well as songs and stories that we shared. In English, we have been learning to add details to our sentence writing and always, always, practising our reading.

Year 1

Year 1 have completed their learning about how to write a character preference and will now focus on narrative writing. In maths, we are learning about time duration, as well as how to tell time to the half hour on digital and analogue clocks.

Year 2

Year 2 are having fun learning about multiplication and sharing, through a lot of hands of materials. Last week we really enjoyed the NAIDOC week activities! Alirah from 2H shared some special items from her culture with the 3 Year 2 classes.

Year 3

Year 3 have continued working hard on researching about significant places around Australia. In English, we have been writing about these significant places. We have been working hard learning about time and money in Maths. In Science, we have been learning how to use thermometers to measure heat.

Year 4

Our investigations and inquiry into the requirements for living things continues. Plants are growing, beans are sprouting, and even fish are swimming. We eagerly await the arrival of our chirpy additions – coming soon. We continue to take quality notes from reliable sources for the purpose of writing information reports and have kicked off some very interesting spider web conversations. It’s all happening in Year 4!

Year 5

Year 5 are having a great time learning all about the program ‘Scratch’ as we get ready to create our own game in Digital Technology. In Science, we are continuing work on ‘Light’ with a lot of experiments and in HASS we are learning all about the Eureka Stockade and why it was such a significant event during the ‘Gold Rush’ years.

Year 6

Year 6 have begun learning our performance piece for CSS’s 50th birthday – we are so excited to show you what we’ve come up with! In Science, we have been looking at earthquakes and cyclones and identifying how people may prepare for natural disasters. In HASS, we have investigated how Henry Parkes’ achievements may have led to federation in Australia.
