Dear Parents/Carers,

Noone loves a pyjama day at work more than me and it is particularly pleasing we were able to raise more than $600 for the Pyjama Foundation. We have a generous community and it is such a great message for children to see that we support others less fortunate. Next week is our school's celebration of NAIDOC Week and we will have a variety of activities culminating in a free dress day on Friday August 5. Dressing in sun-safe red, yellow, black, blue or green in honour of the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander flags is a reminder of the important place Indigenous people have in our society.

Prep and Year 1 Playground

We have the full designs ready for the Prep and Year One Playgrounds. These attached designs have been submitted to go out to tender to identify a contractor to take the project forward. This has been a long process to settle on the direction that students, parents and staff are looking for in terms of new playgrounds. We are thankful for our P and C and their protfitable businesses for supporting these large projects as schools aren't provided with funding to replace playgrounds.

50th Anniversary Celebrations

Plans for our 50th Celebration on Saturday September 10 between 12 and 4pm are well underway. FaceBook pages have been set up for current and former staff and students to connect on the day. Please share these far and wide. I would like to acknowledge the work of Dr Bradley Scott (parent) who has produced some wonderful historical resources for the school to mark this occasion. Every year level is performing on the day and we'd ask every parent/carer to prioritise their child being present for their child's performance on the day.  There will be plenty to amuse adults and children alike and we hope that the FaceBook pages for each decade will help our former students and staff organise some social activities until late that evening.
