Capers
Prep | To finish off our year, the preps have been busy revising some numeracy and literacy skills. We are also learning about the 7 steps in becoming great Bridge Builders. Rumour has it, there is even a little bit of time for Christmas Craft. |
Year 1 | So, now it is time for some revision of topics that we are not as confident with, in our learning. Time to have some fun with some science experiments, making predictions and observations. Quite a bit of writing and art about an event that is coming up soon, that seems to get us a little excited – what could that be?????? |
Year 2 | Year 2 are finishing off the year by sharing memories of their favourite day and reflecting on how much they have grown (both brains and height). We have been practicing our spelling patterns and reading to our friends. Some of us are feeling very excited about the new adventure that will be Year 3. Some of us are feeling sad to be leaving the best teachers in the school. Mrs Scott, Mrs Gale, Mrs Wilson, Mrs Brown and Miss Carr are feeling very grateful for the opportunity to teach such a wonderful group of learners and we wish them much success for the coming school year. Merry Christmas and have a safe and happy holidays. |
Year 3 | We are revising concepts in Mathematics and completing STEAM challenges. Escape room challenges, tin foil sculptures, fractions, spelling and much more. We have enjoyed our swimming carnival races as well. Some students are receiving their Bridge Builder certificates for the successful completion of their online course. |
Year 4 | In Year 4 we have been tidying up loose ends and revising concepts and skills we’ve learnt this year in English and Maths. We can’t believe our time in Year 4 is almost at its end. |
Year 5 | We have had an excellent time in Grade 5 this year. Students are completing their Bridge Builder Training with the Preps, assisted by their teachers. We also enjoyed a fantastic Immersion Day at Craigslea High School, experiencing a taste of high school life. |
Year 5/6 | In 5/6, we have just finished putting the final touches on our comparisons between the novel and film versions of ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar. In Science, we conducted a STEM challenge to build earthquake resistant buildings which was both informative and yummy. |
Year 6 | Well, well, well. We have made it. For Year 6 students, this is the end of primary school, and even though we are in the final couple of weeks, we still haven’t stopped working. We have been consolidating our learning ding reading comprehension activities and an assortment of maths work (including a quiz). We have also started an investigation into a planned Mission to Mars. Nothing like keeping our brains in high gear! Almost there gang. Let’s do this! |
