Around The Grounds

Christmas Concert

The children thoroughly enjoyed the online Christmas Concert and a sincere thanks to Pauline Stockill (Music Teacher) and her team for producing such a wonderful product for our community enjoyment. The children enjoyed many "live" events on the morning of the concert, which added to the excitement. Unfortunately, the P and C's Outdoor Christmas Concert Online Viewing has been cancelled due to the state of the top oval. Please enjoy the concert at home with your family by clicking this link - https://youtu.be/VgxoFV_6gMA

Junior Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to all of our Junior Swimmers who did their best this week. Special thanks to our teachers, senior student helpers and parents - your support made the Junior Swim Carnival a success.

Senior Swimming Carnival

Tuesday we were fortunate to be able to hold our Senior Swimming Carnival. It is the largest level of participation that we have had in a long time with far fewer children deciding not to opt out and hence gained points for their house regardless of where they came in the race!
Congratulations to Hamilton 479pts, followed by Webster 437pts and then Maundrell 420pts. Our age champions were as follows:
12 Year Old Boys: Nathan
12 Year Old Girls: Ronnitha
11 Year Old Boys: Lexer
11 Year Old Girls: Charleigh
10 Year Old Boys: Darcy
10 Year Old Girls: Megan
9 Year Old Boys: Kaden
9 Year Old Girls: Anika
Sincere thanks to Mr Heidrich for his organisation but a massive shout out to the Swimming Club who set up the pool and provided a large contingent of parent volunteers who not only did a variety of jobs but encouraged all the children so beautifully. I don't think there has been a better carnival and it is so great to see our parents be back and involved in these events.

Reading Club News

It was wonderful to see so many students at our final Reading Club session last Thursday! We had great fun reading books & eating freshly made popcorn afterwards with our friendly Year 5 reading buddies! Despite COVID restrictions this year, we still had 90 enthusiastic members who attended our popular Reading Club.

Three of our members have completed their Reading Passports & will be receiving their reading certificates soon. Many other students are only a few stamps away from receiving their awards! Don’t forget to return to Reading Club next year as current reading passports will remain valid in 2022.

Special thanks to our awesome Year 5 Reading Buddies who regularly volunteered their time before school to help our young members become better readers. Thankyou also to all the Mums, Dads, grandparents & teachers who attended Reading Club every week to listen to our students read.

See you all in 2022!

Bridge Builders

As our Year 5 students prepare to be school leaders in 2022, they have participated in the Bridge Builder program. This program helps them to develop the skills needed to demonstrate positive leadership and manage conflicts proactively. Along the way, they were helped out by the Preps who are also developing their own skills in these areas.
