Monday 16 August

PROJECT SET UP NOW SEPT 2 AND SCIENCE WEEK AND FAIR POSTPONED TO SEPT 6-10

  • NO Science Week and Science Fair (16 - 20 August, 2021)    As part of National Science Week we are hosting a Science Fair.  Students who wish to participate in the Science Fair (happening Week 6 - from 16 to 20 August) are to register with Mrs Bryce. Students are responsible for providing any equipment needed and can work on projects during 1st break in the library or at home.  Projects must be completed and ready to setup on Thursday 12 August.

Wednesday 18 August
  • Percussion lessons (for students in program) resume on modified timetable. 
 
  • ICAS English Exam: 1.30-3.00pm(for students in Years 2 and above where parents/carers have registered and paid)
  • NO Girls Volleyball
  • Cybersafety session for Parents: 6:00pm via zoom
    Bridget Boustead A/Senior Advisor from Cybersafety and Reputation Management will be conducting a parent information session on keeping your children safe online.  This is a ‘must do’ session if your child has access to the internet at home with the risk of encountering unsafe websites or communication with others – known and unknown.     If you cannot manage this session, Bridget recommends as an alternative, participating in one of eSafety’s webinars instead - https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents/webinars. The eSafety’s parent guide to popular apps would be my recommendation. There is one on Monday 16 August at 12:30pm – 1:30pm if they have a lunch break, or 31 August at 7:30pm-8:30pm.

CERTIFICATES WILL BE GIVEN OUT IN CLASSES AND PHOTOS TAKEN

  • No Year 4 to Year 6 Assembly: 2.00-pm
    *Please note the LOTE and Performance Choir Parade performance will be rescheduled if mask restrictions are still in place, to decrease the numbers of parents in the assembly hall Parents/Carers of the following Award Recipients (below) from the Week 3 and Week 5 Newsletter and this week will still be welcome to attend.
Friday 20 August
  • No Band Practice will remain at the normal time of 7:45am Friday mornings. (can be subject to change depending on staffing: please check FaceBook/Email for last minute notifications.)
  • Brass and Woodwind (for students in program) resume. Theory lesson only no instruments needed. Instruments for Brass and Woodwind from Friday August 27. Strings lessons resume.



Upcoming Events Term 3, Week 7

Monday 23 August
  • Book Fair and Book Week (Mon Aug 23rd to Thursday August 26th) Due to current restrictions, we are unable to take any cash payments and parents/carers will not be able to come on-site to view the Book Fair. The Book Fair will be open for children during the first play break from 11:00am-11:25am and classes will visit the Book Fair during the week to browse and write their Wish Lists. Families can also view books for sale at the Craigslea Book Fair here:  https://craigsleass.schoolzineplus.com/2021-book-fair- .

    All payments will need to be made online following these steps:

    - During the Book Fair, students will have an opportunity to view books for sale and create their Wish List.  Your child will bring their Wish List home to discuss this with you.

    - If you would like to purchase books for your child youmake an online payment here: https://parentpayments.scholastic.com.au/

    - Indicate (write, highlight, underline, circle) the books you have purchased on the Wish List and write your online payment receipt number on the back of the Wish List.

    - Your child brings the Wish List with the receipt number back to the Book Fair to collect their books.
