Reading Goals

All students have their new reading goal which they will focus on over the next 5 weeks.  Please ask your child about their goal and the strategies that they are using to achieve this goal.  Each fortnight your child is receiving feedback from their class teacher about their reading and how to improve. If you have not been informed of your child's reading goal, please contact the class teacher.

Building a Love of Reading

We all contribute immensely to a child's reading journey.  The critical role as a parent of caregiver in advocating for your children's reading success cannot be overestimated. It has a direct impact on the ease and confidence with which they pursue their reading and writing.

It is the joy and love of sharing a good book on a nightly basis that sets the foundation for their reading success, and ensure that reading is given the priority it deserves. Reading regularly with someone who cares is the inspiration that all readers deserve.

For further information on how you can support your child at home with their reading, please read the following article sourced from the Primary English Teaching Association Australia (PETTA).
