Wavell State High School Problem Solving Challenge
On Thursday 22 April, two Year Five teams and two Year Six teams from Craigslea partipated in the Wavell State High School Middle School Problem Solving Challenge. Students worked on problem solving tasks related to Mathematics, Science and Technology. This was an excellent opportunity to work with students from other schools and provided an extra level of challenge and motivation. Our students worked very hard to complete the tricky challenges and enjoyed the exciting atmosphere of the challenge. They will be presented with certificate at the assembly next week. Well done to all students who participated.
2021 NAPLAN
As stated in the last newsletter, NAPLAN will be occuring on the 11th, 12th and 13th May for Year 3 and Year 5 students. The best way to help prepare your child for NAPLAN is by reassuring them that NAPLAN is just one part of their school program, and by reminding them on the day to simply try their best. Teachers have ensured students are familiar with the types of questions in the tests and will provide appropriate support and guidance.
If your child is absent for any of the tests, we will arrange for individual students who are absent at the time of testing to complete missed tests at another time during the school's test schedule. Friday 14th May is a designated 'catch up day' for any tests that have not been completed due to illness etc.
The NAPLAN timetable for the Year 3 and 5 students is as follows:
