Learning Spotlight - Alice Cowan-Dillon
Get Ready to Be Persuaded!
This term in English, students across all year levels will be diving into the art of spoken persuasion and you might just find yourself as their first audience! Our Prep students will be retelling events and sharing how those moments made them feel. Year 1 students will be trying to convince you to play their favourite games by explaining how to play them. Year 2 will be persuading us to choose the perfect destination for a school excursion. Year 3 students will express their preferences and opinions about their favourite activities and explain why they love them. In Year 4, students will present ideas to our sustainability team, suggesting actions to make Craigslea State School even more environmentally friendly. Year 5 will propose new facilities, services, or activities to benefit our school community. Our Year 6 students will tackle real-world issues, presenting arguments to persuade local government councillors to take action on significant community concerns.
It’s shaping up to be a powerful and persuasive term!
Term 3 Enrichment
This term, selected Craigslea students are taking part in a range of enrichment activities. These include the STEM Kid’s Inspiration Day at the University of Queensland, the APSMO Maths Explorer Contest, Literacy Olympics, and Maths Tournament. Our Young ICT Explorers are also continuing work on their projects.
It’s great to see our students getting involved in these opportunities and we thank our teachers for their support in making this possible.
