Dear Craigslea Community,
A fabulous time was had by all who attended the disco on Friday night. It was great to see so many of our families join us created a community atmosphere on the night. A big thank you to our P&C for hosting the night and to our school staff who also supported the event. I know the leadership team and I, whilst run off our feet, loved serving at the canteen and talking with students, parent and carers.

We will launch Science week at a special assembly on Monday at 9:00am

School Opinion Survey
This year’s School Opinion Survey is open until 16 August 2024. Parents, caregivers and students are encouraged to participate. Your insights will help us know what our school does well and how we can improve. Participants will be emailed a link to access the survey the week before it opens. Survey responses are confidential. The survey usually takes less than 10 minutes to complete. More information can be found on the School Opinion Survey webpage or by contacting the school.
I encourage parents and carers to take the time to complete the survey and provide us valuable information as we commence planning for 2025.
Lost Property
Our lost property baskets are full to overflowing with jumpers, lunch boxes and water bottles. If your child is missing any of these items, please encourage them to check lost property which is located outside the Cleaners Room near Year 6CPA. If you are visiting the school, I also encourage you to take a look at the baskets.

Cyberbullying: Conversations With Kids Can Make a Positive Difference
Cyberbullying is a major concern for parents and carers. According to a survey conducted by Triple P, 82% of parents feel worried about protecting their children from online dangers. With more and more ways to connect with others online, it's important to help kids develop the knowledge and skills they require to stay safer, make good choices, and talk to a trusted adult if something worrying happens. Having open and relaxed conversations with children about cyberbullying can make a big difference. These discussions can be tailored based on their age and understanding.
Using "what if" scenarios can help kids feel more prepared to handle tricky situations. For example, "What if a stranger messaged you while you were playing an online game?" or “How would you feel if you saw hurtful or embarrassing comments about a classmate on social media?” Children often feel worried or scared to talk to parents about something they've seen or experienced online, especially if they think they will get in trouble. Creating a safe, calm and non-judgemental space can help them feel more comfortable in sharing their concerns.
For practical conversation-starters about cyberbullying, read Triple P’s latest parenting article. Parents and carers can learn strategies to raise capable, resilient kids with support from Triple P Online or Teen Triple P Online.
