Dear Families,
It is hard to believe that we have completed 10 weeks of the school year already! I would like to once again thank our parent community for their kindness and their support this term. Congratulations also must be given to our students for their continued focus on their learning and the way they strive to be kind and brave and independent. I hope that you all find some time in the holidays to make memories with your friends and family and relax and reset ready for Term 2.
Staffing News
On Thursday and Friday this week I have some family leave that has been planned for some time. The Officers in Charge on these days will be: Mrs Sarah Abdy on Thursday; Mrs Kim Dorr (Principal Qld Children’s Hospital School) on Friday.
Term 2
I have received notification that I have been extended in the role of Principal at Craigslea State School for Term 2. I feel very excited and grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this fabulous school and community.
Congratulations to Mrs Sarah Abdy who has been offered the opportunity to take up the Principal role at Stafford Heights State School for the first 2 weeks of Term while their Principal is on Long Service Leave. Mr Anthony Kleidon will step into the P-2 Deputy Principal role at Craigslea while Mrs Abdy is at Stafford Heights SS. Mr Kleidon is a well-known and experienced teacher and leader at Craigslea SS and we welcome him to the leadership team for the start of Term 2.
Welcome to Ms Alice Peiker who will join the Year 1 teaching team. Welcome (back) also to Mrs Sheyne Meiklejohn who will be joining the 3DP class as Mrs Stacey Peach takes up a role as a district relief teacher for the remainder of the year. Mrs Jess Drummond will continue Monday - Wednesday with 3DP and Mrs Meiklejohn will work on Thursday - Friday.
Kind Regards,
Nikki
Mothers and Others Stall
The Mothers and Others Stall is on Friday 12 May 2023. Students can shop for their mother, grandmother, aunty, sister, stepmother, godmother, or any other special person who has filled this role and has had a supporting or positive influence in their life.
On the day, please send your child with a shopping bag and some money to buy a gift (gifts range between $3.00 and $15.00). Each class will visit the stall throughout the day with their teacher.
For the Mothers and Others Stall to be a success, we would appreciate your support with:
- Donations of new and unopened gifts, such as liquid soaps, lotions, hair accessories, plants etc. to The Hub by 5 May 2023.
- Volunteers to run the stall on the day! We need two volunteers per hour between 8.00am and 3.00pm. Register at https://volunteersignup.org/E4DRP or at The Hub.
All funds raised will support the P&C and projects to improve our school.
