Dear Craigslea Community,
We have now reached Week 5 the halfway point of Term 2 and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and engagement in our school community.
P&C Day – Thank You!
Today we celebrate P&C Day, recognising the incredible contribution our Parents & Citizens Association makes to our school. From supporting learning initiatives to helping improve facilities and community engagement, our P&C plays a vital role in enriching the educational experience for all Craigslea students. Thank you to all our dedicated P&C members—we deeply appreciate your commitment and partnership.
School Photos – 29th and 30th May
School photos are next week. A timetable for photos will be sent home mid next week. Please note sibling photos will be at 8am Thursday and Friday.
Term 2 Show & Shine
This term our Show & Shine sessions will move back to the afternoon. This is as a result of feedback from parents and teachers. Term 2 Show & Shine is on Monday 23 June with Year 3 – 6 at 2:00pm to 2:30pm and Prep to year 2 at 2:30pm to 3:00pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
Strengthening Communication Between Home and School
Strong communication between families and school is essential for student success and wellbeing. Last week, the Department of Education released new guidelines to help schools and families maintain respectful, timely, and effective communication. These new guidelines reinforce our commitment to open and productive partnerships. These guidelines can be accessed through the link below.

2025–2028 Student Code of Conduct
During Term 1, we undertook a review and update of our Student Code of Conduct. This important document outlines our shared expectations for behaviour and how we support students to meet those expectations. Last week, we presented a draft of the updated Code to our P&C and to parents attending our Coffee & Connect session.
The updated 2025–2028 Code of Conduct reflects the new practices and procedures we have implemented across the school. The updated Student Code of Conduct will be accessible on the school website next week.
Facilities Update
We are pleased to share that later this term, our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) building will undergo a refurbishment. This includes a full internal and external repaint as well as the installation of new flooring enhancing the space for students and staff alike.
Coffee & Connect – Community Feedback
Thank you to all who joined us at last Friday’s Coffee & Connect. It was a valuable opportunity to gather community feedback on our new ways of working and to hear your thoughts on what’s working well and where we can continue to grow.
Positive feedback included:
- Introduction of Bounce Back for social and emotional learning
- Success of the SEAL Program
- Access to extension and enrichment opportunities
- Availability of Japanese in the early years
- Positive response to the new assembly time slot
- Strong engagement with Rising Readers
- Enthusiasm for the House Shield Competition
These initiatives are having a meaningful impact on student learning, wellbeing, and engagement and it’s wonderful to see that reflected in our community’s feedback.
Suggestions for improvement:
- Consider returning Show & Shine to an afternoon session
- Improve consistency in notifying families about LIFE Awards
- Review the Term 1 specialist timetable, particularly the alternating weeks of Music and PE
- Strengthen the delivery of Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) lessons
- Make Easter Hat Parade hats at school rather than at home
We sincerely value your feedback it helps shape our decisions and ensures we continue to meet the needs of our students and families.
“People working together in a strong community with a shared goal and a common purpose can make the impossible possible.”
— Tom Vilsack
